These terms govern your use of the Rotorua Guide mobile application, provided by Black Sands Digital ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the app, you agree to these terms.
Rotorua Guide is a location-based travel guide. Some content and functionality (the "Full Guide") requires an in-app purchase to unlock. Free content, including a subset of locations, remains accessible without purchase.
The Full Guide unlock is a one-time, non-consumable purchase — not a subscription, and it does not auto-renew or recur. It is processed and billed by Apple through the App Store, and is tied to the Apple ID used to make the purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their own refund policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
Location information, opening hours, prices, and other details are provided as a guide and may change without notice. We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party details such as pricing or operating hours, and are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on them.
Check-ins rely on your device's GPS. You are responsible for your own physical safety while using the app, including while navigating to or exploring any location it suggests.
Reviews and ratings you submit may be displayed publicly to other users within the app. You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant us a licence to display it as part of the service. We may remove content that violates our community standards.
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time via the settings menu. We may suspend or terminate access for use that violates these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Black Sands Digital ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Rotorua Guide mobile application.
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the app's core functionality. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal location history or account details with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Rotorua Guide utilises Google Firebase to securely authenticate users and store your account data, saved sites, and itineraries. Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are used only for authentication. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Your data is handled in accordance with each provider's own privacy and security protocols.
You have full control over your data. You can delete your account and associated data at any time directly via the settings menu inside the Rotorua Guide application. Upon requesting deletion, your data is permanently removed from our active database.
Rotorua Guide does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for the app or send any personal information about yourself to us.
